Frank CoatesWhen I ‘ran away’ to Africa to escape a frustrating job in Melbourne, I felt I could endure anything for a year – the term of my contract as a UN technical specialist in Kenya.

Four years later, circumstances forced me to leave. It was a wrench.

Africa changed my life completely. It fired up a passion in me to tell its many stories, and in so doing to realise an ambition to write – an ambition I had suppressed for thirty years as I raised a family and paid the mortgage. When my first novel was published I happily gave up the day job.

Africa not only inspired me, it introduced me to the excitement and the characters that populate my pages.

Why not join me in Africa?

The Classic Safari Company and Animal Works have put together an amazing itinerary. See the Masai Mara, the Great Rift Valley and Samburu national parks with me. At the same time you will be helping to save the African elephants. For more information, go to News or see the brochure.
